Bookings:

We can hold rooms for 3 days from the initial enquiry but cannot guarantee their availability if payment of a deposit is not received within that time.

By making a booking with us and making a payment, you are agreeing to the terms listed below.

For group bookings, the organisor of the group will be responsible for the payment of the deposit, outstanding amount due and any cancellation costs incurred.

Deposits and payments:

Booking.com bookings - A deposit of one night's stay per room booked will be taken within three working days of booking. Payment confirms the booking.

Email bookings - On receipt of your booking we will send you an email giving details of the deposit payment required. This is payable within three days from the date of the email sent to you from Glyn Peris. Payment confirms the booking.
We cannot guarantee the availability of a room if payment is not received within the three days. Bookings made via our website - a deposit payment of one night per room booked is taken online when booking.

Any outstanding balance is payable in cash or by debit card on arrival. All details are given on the first email.

Cancellations:

Coronavirus policy:

If you are taken ill or have had to self-isolate due to the Coronavirus and have to cancel your booking with us within our 21 day limit, we can offer a full refund. However, you will need to send us proof (eg a letter from your GP or your employer) to qualify for free cancellation. Or we can hold your deposit towards a future booking to come before the end of 2021. This policy could change as circumstances dictate.

Notice given must be a full 21 days or more prior to the arrival date for a full refund of any deposit paid.

Booking.com bookings - You must cancel your booking via Booking.com. Notice of less than 30 days prior to arrival – we can hold your deposit towards an alternative date within the same year of your original booking, subject to availability; otherwise, the deposit of one night's stay is not refundable. You will be fully charged for no-shows.

Telephone, email or online bookings (via our website) – Notice of less than 21 days prior to arrival – you may rearrange your booking for alternative dates within the same year of your original booking but if they are not available, there will be a charge of the first night per room booked. Alterntivley you may give your booking to a friend or relative but we must be informed by email at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

Servicing rooms:

Guests who are staying for more than one night are asked to vacate the room for the day by 10.00am if they wish their room to be serviced each morning.

Group bookings

Glyn Peris does not accept payments from individuals within the group so whoever makes the booking has to collect monies from the other members for payment and any outstanding balance. A detailed breakdown of individual room costs will be provided to help the organiser.

If people from different households are staying, please note the guest lounge will be closed until further notice. Guests will not be allowed to congregate in the public areas but to meet outside before heading out for the day/to eat etc.

Front door:

We ask our guests to respect others who may be staying, so when coming in late at night to be as quiet as possible and to make sure the front door is closed.

We request that all guests must always use the hand sanitising station in the porch before entering the hall.

Bathroom 'etiquette':

Please note, this house runs on a septic tank sytem so do not flush anything other than paper, pee and poo down the loo. When making a booking to stay with us you agree that you will not flush any of the following items down the toilet:

  • NO SANITARY TOWELS
  • NO WET WIPES, (even if they say 'flushable' on the pack)
  • NO COTTON WOOL BALLS
  • NO COTTON BUDS
  • NO MAKE-UP PADS
  • NO CONDOMS etc.
  • ROOM 5's toilet has a mechanism with blades that will not cope with anything other than paper. If any of the above are put down the toilet, emergency services will have to be called. This will incur a costly sum (minimum £150.00) for which you will be charged.

    Lost keys:

    There will be a £50.00 charge for any lost keys.

    Liability:

    We have off street parking spaces at the front and rear of the house. Glyn Peris Guest House does not take any responsibility for any property brought into the guest house or left in the car park areas.

    Smoking policy:

    Glyn Peris Guest House is a non-smoking establishment, (INCLUDING E-CIGARETTES). Our guests are reminded it is against the law to smoke in a non-smoking establishment. Any guests caught smoking will be asked to immediately vacate the premises whilst still being charged for the remainder of their booking as well as for a private cleaning company to clean and fumigate the room. This can cost up to £150.00 depending on the company available at the time.

    Take-away foods:

    Take-away foods (ie Chinese, curries, pizza, fish & chips etc) are not allowed to be brought into or eaten in the bedrooms or lounge but you may use the dining room by prior arrangement--> the house. If guests are found to be bringing a take-away into their room, they may be asked to leave and where any cleaning/venting of the room is needed, guests will be charged extra cleaning rates.

    Fire safety:

    For the safety of everyone, cooking of any kind, or the use of toasters; grills; stoves etc is not permitted anywhere in the guest house.

    For the safety of everyone, guests' use of candles, night lights etc is not permitted.

    Car park:

    Glyn Peris has parking space for up to seven vehicles at the front and rear of the property. Vehicles are parked at the owners' risk.

    Children staying at Glyn Peris:

    Regretfully we feel that Glyn Peris is not suitable for children under the age of eight.

    Please note that due to the wood burning stove, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult when using the guest lounge.

    Damage:

    As accidents do happen, we ask guests to inform us immediately of any breakages or damages that occur so that we can make any necessary repairs etc.

    Rooms are checked daily by the owners for any damages. Any damage causing us to have to make a claim on our insurance is logged and will incur a charge to the guest of the policy excess. The guest will immediately be contacted should the need for this arise. By paying a deposit or full payment for a room, guests are agreeing to these terms.

    Cameras:

    Security cameras are in operation in the public areas of the guest house.

    Access statement:

    This statement is a description of access for customers who may have disabilities of any sort.

    Set on the main road leading into Llanberis there is off street parking to the left hand side (when facing the house) for up to 3 cars in marked bays and for two cars on the pavement. There is a 10m walk from the car park bays to the front gate where there is a 2" step down onto a path of slate chippings leading to the front door.

    There is a 6" step up into the house through the porch doors. The ground floor is level with the breakfast room and lounge. All guest rooms are reached by a 16 step staircase with banister rail leading to the first floor landing. The large family rooms are at the front of the building where some doubles and the single rooms are to the rear, through a small corridor and fire door. There is no lift access.

    All guest rooms are centrally heated on a timer system, each room having a thermostat control on the radiator.

    Glyn Peris has a superior and modern fire alarm system and smoke detection sensors are in all rooms and hallways. There are fire extinguishers on each floor.

    Glyn Peris is inspected by Gwynedd Fire Services every three years.

    Privacy Policy:

    The legislation of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) deadline is 25th May 2018.

    As a company, we are legally obliged to inform you that on booking with us, we hold your details within our secure database. 

    Through our online booking software, “freetobook”, certain personal data is also securely stored and their Privacy Policy is shown below.

    The information we hold is purely for:

    • maintaining our relationship with our guests
    • general communication/marketing purposes (with your consent)
    • legal reasons - any personal data contained within booking and accounting records will be retained for a period of 7 years following the receipt of payment.

    No details are ever passed on to any other organisations, mailing lists etc.

    "Freetobook is booking software used by accommodation providers to enable their customers to make online bookings and manage those bookings.

    This document applies to the processing by freetobook of personal data collected by properties using freetobook online booking system in relation to the provision of accommodation by those properties.

    1 Your Personal Data Properties using freetobook as their booking engine, collect and store information that you give when you make a booking. You are asked for your name, address, telephone number and email along with payment information and “the names of any guests travelling with you”. This may also include your IP address. This information is stored in the freetobook System in order to process your booking. You may be contacted by the Property you have booked with in relation to your booking.

    Your data is also stored after you have stayed but will be kept no longer than necessary in order to comply with legal obligations and for properties to welcome your repeat business.

    2 Data processed directly by third parties If you provide payment information, this will be processed directly by secure PCI Level 1 compliant payment gateway providers.

    3 Joint Controllers In the context of providing booking software to accommodation providers to facilitate online booking, freetobook and the accommodation provider shall together operate as joint data controllers for the processing of your personal data.

    4 Security Procedures In accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), freetobook observes reasonable procedures to prevent unauthorised access and misuse of personal information. We use appropriate business systems and procedures to protect and safeguard any personal information given to us. We also use security procedures and technical and physical restrictions for accessing and using the personal information on our servers. Only authorised personnel are permitted to access personal information in the course of their work.

    5 Control of your Personal Data You have the right to access data that is stored on behalf of properties taking bookings via freetobook system. You need to email or write to the property you booked with to request an overview of your personal data.

    You can also contact the property you booked with on freetobook System if you believe that the personal information they have for you is incorrect, if you believe that they are no longer entitled to use your personal data or if you have any other questions about how your personal information is used or about the Privacy Statement. You need to email or write to the property you booked with.

    6 Reviews You may also be asked to send feedback after your stay in order for the property to further improve their service. Your email address will be used for this purpose. If you complete a review it may be posted on the property website, facebook page, twitter or google plus. However, no identifying details will ever be attached to a review posting.

    To Process your information as described above, we rely on the following legal bases:

    Performance of a contract. The storage of your information may be necessary to perform the contract that you have with the accommodation provider you are booking with.

    Legitimate Interests.We may use your information for our legitimate interests, such as for administrative, fraud detection and legal purposes.

    Cookies

    A cookie is a small amount of data that is placed in the browser of your computer or on your mobile device. These cookies are used only to help you make a smooth booking and contain information like the date searched and language of booking. There is a difference between session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies will only exist until you close your browser. Persistent cookies have a longer lifespan and are not automatically deleted once you close your browser. We use persistent cookies in Google Analytics to analyse visitor traffic and behaviour. By using freetobook website or proceeding with a booking you are consenting to the above use of cookies."
